Privacy Policy for LockMeet
Last Updated: October 21, 2026
Overview
LockMeet is a scheduling coordination app that helps groups find common meeting times. We're committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What We Collect
LockMeet collects the minimum data needed to find common scheduling times:
- iCloud Identifier — An opaque string (not your name or email) that uniquely identifies your iCloud account
- Display Name (optional) — A name you choose to show other group members
- Free/Busy Time Slots — Start and end times only, without event details
- Group Names and Date Ranges — Information about the groups you create or join, including a location and short note if the meet's creator adds them
- Votes, RSVPs and Activity — Your votes and RSVPs on proposed times (and, if the meet asks, how many guests you're bringing), and a short log of actions in a meet so other members can follow what's happened
- Reminders — Reminders you send or receive in a meet (who sent it, who it's for, what it's about, and when)
- Announcements — Announcements, and whether you tapped Got it
- Lists — Items, who's bringing them (including names typed in for people not on LockMeet), and costs
- App Version — The version of LockMeet you use
What We Never Collect
LockMeet never collects:
- Calendar event titles, descriptions, locations, or attendees
- Email addresses (unless you opt in via Sign in with Apple)
- Location data
- Advertising identifiers or device fingerprints
- Anything used to track you across other apps or websites
How Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored in Apple's CloudKit infrastructure with the following protections:
- Encryption in Transit — TLS 1.3 (HTTPS)
- Encryption at Rest — Automatic via CloudKit
- Advanced Data Protection — If you enable this in iCloud Settings, your data is end-to-end encrypted, and even Apple cannot read it
Sharing & Privacy
When you join a group or invite others:
- Other members can see your free/busy time slots for that group's date range
- They cannot see your calendar event titles, descriptions, attendees, or any other details
- Your availability is only visible to people in that specific group
- A meet's location and note (if its creator adds them) are visible to its members, and are included in invites, chat messages and calendar events you choose to create
- Members can see whether you were recently reminded to respond, so they don't send a duplicate reminder
- Members can see whether you've seen an announcement, the list items you add or bring, your app version, and whether you can confirm times
- A meet's creator chooses who can join. With Anyone with the link or code, whoever has the meet's invite link or code joins right away, without approval, even if the link was passed on; the creator can remove people at any time. With Only people you approve, the creator approves each join request first
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time by:
- Removing the LockMeet app from your device
- Going to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage
- Selecting LockMeet and deleting your data
Note: Deleting the app does not automatically delete your CloudKit data. You must manually delete it from iCloud settings if you want to remove it completely.
Third-Party Services
LockMeet uses Apple's services:
- CloudKit — For data storage and synchronization
- EventKit — For reading your local iOS Calendar (no data sent to servers)
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — For delivering notifications about activity in your meets, if you enable them
And one non-Apple service, for anonymous usage statistics only:
- TelemetryDeck — Counts which features are used (see below)
We do not use ad networks or tracking services.
Anonymous Usage Statistics
To learn which features are used, LockMeet counts actions such as creating a meet, sending a reminder or sharing to chat, using TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. Each count comes with general technical information (app version, device model, iOS version, language, time zone, screen size and accessibility settings) and a random install ID that is one-way hashed on your device, so it can't be linked back to you or your device.
These statistics never include your name, iCloud identifier, meet names, availability, messages or any other meet content. They aren't linked to your identity, aren't used for advertising, and aren't used to track you across other apps or websites.
Calendar Integration
LockMeet can read your iOS Calendar to help you find available times:
- We read only the calendars you pick, locally on your device only
- Calendar data is never sent to LockMeet servers
- We only calculate free/busy time (gaps in your schedule)
- Event details are never shared or stored
Notifications
LockMeet can send you notifications about activity in your meets:
- Alerts you when someone joins your meet, votes on a proposed time, proposes or confirms a time, posts an announcement, changes the place, or puts you down for a list item — even when the app is closed
- Reminds you the evening before a confirmed date you haven't answered. This reminder is scheduled by your own device from the meet data it already has; nothing is sent anywhere to schedule it, and you can turn it off in Settings
- Delivered through Apple's CloudKit and Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
- Built from the same activity data described under "What We Collect" above — no new data is collected to support this feature
- You can turn notifications off at any time from your device's Settings
Reminders & Sharing to Chat
- Reminders — When you tap the bell to remind someone, LockMeet saves a small reminder (your display name, who it's for, whether it's about availability, a vote or an RSVP, and the time) in that meet's private zone. Only the people reminded get a notification; other members just see that someone was reminded recently. Reminders are never shown to people outside the meet.
- Notification settings stay private — LockMeet never shares whether you have notifications turned on or off with anyone.
- Discuss in chat / Also via chat — These open Apple's standard share sheet with a message and a link to the meet. The message is sent by the chat app you choose (such as Messages or WhatsApp), under that app's own privacy policy. LockMeet never sees which chat or person you picked, what you finally sent, or any replies. iOS only tells LockMeet which app was used, to show "Shared via WhatsApp" on your device, and nothing about it is stored.
